This is a remote position.

We are looking for a creative and growth-minded Social Media Manager to join our remote team. Our ideal SM Manager is a self-starter, imaginative, and autodidact. She/he will be responsible for conceiving, developing, scheduling, and distributing marketing posts across various online marketing and social media channels to engage and grow our audiences.

Duties and Responsibilities [Other duties may be assigned]

  • Formulating and implementing an effective social media strategy.

  • Collaborating with the team to ensure brand consistency.

  • Monitoring SEO and web traffic metrics as it relates to social media activities. 

  • Generating, editing, scheduling, publishing, and sharing engaging content frequently.

  • Researching current trends and audience preferences, and strategically adjusting activities to maximize efficiency.

  • Communicating with followers and engaging in industry discussions on behalf of the brand. 

  • Suggesting and implementing new features to increase brand awareness and audience engagement. 

  • Staying up to date with software, tools, and social media and marketing trends.

  • Exploring learning opportunities for personal growth and contributing to the team’s growth.

Qualifications and requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma.

  • 2-3 years of social media management experience. 

  • Proven experience managing pages on LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook.

  • Excellent written and spoken communication in the English language. 

  • Excellent copywriting skills.

  • Good content management experience.

  • Strong time management and organizational skills.

  • Critical reasoning and creative problem-solving skills.

  • A functional PC and access to a reliable internet connection.

  • Prior experience working in a remote team.

  • Decent experience in using analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics) and marketing automation tools (e.g. Hootsuite or Buffer).

  • Good knowledge of online marketing channels. 

  • Ability to work under minimal supervision.

  • Sporadic virtual check-in meetings with the team.

  • Team communications and collaborations via Slack, emails, Trello, Buffer and other necessary tools.
