Department Overview
The EMR & Wireless Program strives to create a safer environment for children and adults alike by raising awareness of the adverse health effects of artificial EMR exposure from wireless sources, including smartphones, WiFi, cell towers, small cells, smart meters and other Internet of Things (IoT) technologies.
Through strategic litigation, education and advocacy, CHD’s EMR & Wireless Program exposes and fights back against the health, environmental and privacy threats resulting from the rapid, uncontrolled and poorly-regulated expansion of wireless technology and infrastructure.
The Program also runs two initiatives, Stop5G Community Empowerment Consulting and 704 No More™. Stop5G Community Empowerment Consulting helps communities push back against the unchecked rollout of wireless infrastructure near homes and schools. 704 No More™ advocates for the repeal of federal laws that strip away local control over wireless infrastructure that hurts communities and the environment.
