The Harlem Globetrotters is seeking an Intern to add to the Social Media team for an approximate 6 week internship this summer.


As a Social Media Intern you will be a part of a fast paced, growing social media team responsible for ideating, creating, and publishing social media content for the Harlem Globetrotters. The social team sits within the Digital Marketing department, reporting to the Head of Marketing with visibility and collaboration across the entire organization.


Requirements

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create, edit, and post content (videos, reels, photos) across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and other platforms.
  • Ideate and complete social media campaigns related to the brand or sponsorships
  • Curate social media content using storylines based on the teams, city/community, and players
  • Assist with social metrics/reporting through native platforms and third-party platforms like Sprout Social
  • Stay on top of trends and suggest creative ideas for engaging followers.
  • Monitor performance analytics to identify what works and optimize future posts.
  • Conduct ongoing competitive analysis of the social space
  • Participate in social/content brainstorming sessions content planning for brand development
  • Collaborating across teams to support organizational goals and initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Background in Film and Television, Journalism, Marketing, Communications, Sports Management, Business Development, or Business Administration
  • Professional communication and demeanor
  • Proficiency editing in CapCut, Canva, and Adobe Photoshop.
  • Candidate should possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Passion for trends and discovering new technologies that can help grow our brands.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Sprout (or publishing platforms), Asana (or project management systems), and/or design products (e.g. Canva) is valued
  • Experience publishing content on social media platforms: Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTubeย
